|
The Cebu Queen City Lion’s Club, together with the Moriah Lodge No. 252 of the Free and Accepted Masons and the Customs Inspectors and Guides Association (CIGA), sponsored a medical mission in barangay Bogo, Argao, on July 4, 2009. Free medical and dental checkups were provided by the medical and dental team that the organizers brought with them. The Lion’s Club is headed by Atty. Raul Sanchez; Paul Alcazaren heads the Moriah Lodge No. 252 of the Free and Accepted Masons; and Edgar A. Galeos, brother of municipal mayor Edsel A. Galeos, is the president of the CIGA. This medical mission was just the latest in a spate of missions sponsored by various agencies in Argao. One of the earlier medical missions, held last March 21, 2009, was sponsored by the family of the late Dr. Felimon Alberca in cooperation with the Philippine Army, held at the Argao Central Elementary School. Another mission, held last June 19, 2009, was sponsored by the Cebu Provincial Government as an opening salvo for the Governor Gwen Airsoft competition held on June 20 and 21. The capitol medical mission was held at the Pres. Diosdado Macapagal Sports and Cultural Center.
The Municipality of Argao would like to thank the Queen City Lion’s Club, Moriah Lodge No. 252 of the Free and Accepted Masons, the Customs Inspectors and Guides Association, the Provincial Government of Cebu, and the family of Dr. Felimon Alberca for their constant support and dedication. (TLS) |
